Jon Giaan

Jon Giaan MYI

Knowledge Source Founder and Managing Director Jon Giaan has successfully assisted countless investors in learning and applying the wealth-creation strategies espoused by the company he founded in 2000. Prior to creating Knowledge Source, Jon established a property investment portfolio worth $35 million through the use of strategies he developed while educating himself on the subject of investing in real estate properties. Jon, the definition of the self-made multimillionaire, has since worked to share his insight and expertise with as broad an audience as possible through Knowledge Source as well as through his written work, which includes a popular book called “The Millionaire Phenomena,” which was published in 2005.

1. What do you do for work?

I serve as the managing director of Knowledge Source, a company I founded over 15 years ago.

2. Why did you choose to pursue a career in the field in which you currently work?

As a self-taught investor, I am keenly aware of the many difficulties new investors face as they strive to achieve financial freedom. Knowledge Source allows me to guide those new investors and provide a blueprint that will help them succeed as investors.

3. In what way does your professional role make it possible for you to have a positive impact on others?

I experienced quite a few hardships before amassing my current level of wealth through property investing, and my professional role essentially revolves around the idea that my experience and the experience of other experts can help newcomers enjoy a much smoother path to lifelong prosperity.

4. What is it that you enjoy most about living in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia?

I enjoy the fact that it is a modern city that understands the importance of its unique history and culture.

5. What do you do for recreation?

I like to visit the many art museums located throughout the city and enjoy watching a good tennis tournament every once in a while.

6. If you could travel anywhere outside of Australia, where would you go and why?

For many of the same reasons I enjoy living in Melbourne — the arts, history, and culture — I also enjoy visiting Athens, Greece.

7. Aussie rules football, cricket, rugby or something else?

Footy is my preference out of the three, but I would definitely prefer to attend the Australian Open if given the opportunity.

8. Is there an Australian you admire or who has had a profound influence on you personally or professionally? Explain.

Although I do not agree with all of his viewpoints, I have always admired Peter Singer’s unyielding commitment to his beliefs even when faced with harsh criticism.

9. What advice would you give to a first-time visitor to Australia?

Make sure you become a second- and third-time visitor as well! Australia is simply too large and too interesting to experience during a single visit.

10. What is the funniest or strangest question a tourist has ever asked you about Australia?

Most of the visitors I have encountered during all my years in Australia have been nothing but thoughtful and polite. There have been a few, however, who must have expected a much more raucous atmosphere and subsequently tried to rile people up. It was all in good fun, but it surely caused them to look a bit foolish.

I’ve personally benefited from the guidance of a mentor and wanted to pass on what I had learned to others seeking to achieve a similar level of success.

I love that I am so constantly confronted with nature’s beauty and I feel incredibly fortunate to live on such a fantastic property.

7. Aussie rules football, cricket, rugby or something else?

I enjoy attending rugby matches, but only every once in a while.

8. Is there an Australian you admire or who has had a profound influence on you personally or professionally? Explain.

The person I admire most and who had the most profound influence on my professional career is Dr. Dolf de Roos, but he was actually born in New Zealand and is probably best known for his work in the United States.

9. What advice would you give to a first-time visitor to Australia?

The cities are all amazing and are absolutely worth visiting, but you haven’t really experienced Australia until you’ve spent time in the diverse natural settings we have throughout the country.

10. What is the funniest or strangest question a tourist has ever asked you about Australia?

Someone asked me where the annual Yahoo Serious Film Festival was held, but I was completely unaware that there was ever such a film festival, let alone an annual one.

3. In what way does your professional role make it possible for you to have a positive impact on others?

Through the e-learning and training programs offered by OVENS International, I have helped aspiring consultants generate incredible wealth in a short period of time. So far, we have nine millionaire consultants and 136 more six-figure consultants.

5. What do you do for recreation?

I like to go fishing, swimming and diving.

6. If you could travel anywhere outside of Australia, where would you go and why?

I recently visited the Adirondacks in Upstate New York, so I’d like to see more of that area the next time I have an opportunity to travel.

7. Aussie rules football, cricket, rugby or something else?

Rugby is the best out of those three, but I prefer to spend my free time out on the water.

8. Is there an Australian you admire or who has had a profound influence on you personally or professionally? Explain.

My entrepreneurial ventures have mostly been inspired by the innovators of Silicon Valley, especially Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook.

9. What advice would you give to a first-time visitor to Australia?

Scuba diving is one of the most enjoyable experiences available in Australia, even if it means having to earn your certification either before or during the visit.

10. What is the funniest or strangest question a tourist has ever asked you about Australia?

I’ve been asked about Lord of the Rings more times than I’d care to admit, and on more than one occasion a tourist has asked me how to get to Mordor, the Shire or Rivendell.
